WALI PUBLIC SCHOOL
Due to a lack of further education opportunities for girls aged 10 and above in the local area, many girls stay at home. Parents may not be able to afford the travel expenses or buy the essential stationary and resources.
In March 2025, we were delighted to open our doors to the local girls to continue their education into secondary level. Twenty-four girls from the catchment enrolled to begin Class 6 studies.
Three more teachers were employed in the school along with our existing staff.
24 Chairs and desks were purchased to furnish 2 classrooms.
Other essential work carried out
Solar Power Twelve more panels and another 4 KW inverter were installed so electricity is freely available all around the centre and the caretaker’s house.
Graduation Ceremony Our 3rd ceremony included successful ‘LovetolearnIT’ students as well as our ‘Stitch in Time’ students. All students were gifted a scarf and a certification of recognition.
‘LovetolearnIT’ - Fourteen students graduated after completing basic and/or intermediate skills courses. A laptop was gifted to a deserving student.
‘Stitch in Time’ - Eight machines were gifted to deserving students.
Clean Water Supply - Boring was carried out to improve the quality of the water supplied to the Centre. This has been successful.
Some essential work was carried out during our visit to the Centre in February 2024, all thanks to our donors:
Our staff and students celebrated our 1st Anniversary with a cake supporting the Centre's logo. Some of the students proudly wore the new uniform, stitched by the girls themselves.
IT Hub
Our IT Training Hub was launched in October 2023, supported by World Care Foundation.
We offer internationally recognised courses that cover a range of topics, including programming, web development, cybersecurity, and more, free of charge. Our courses provide career counselling and job placement services to help our graduates secure employment in their chosen field.
We are proud to provide free laptops to our graduates who come from families that cannot afford computers.
