Our Success Stories - 2024

With the generosity of our donors, we have lent a helping hand to those in need, to make a better future for themselves and their families.

Convenience Store

We have built an extension for our new caretaker, Kurram and his family, providing him with free accommodation.

Kurram ran a local convenience store with very little stock due to financial restrictions. With the funds from our charity, we have provided him with shelving and we have fully stocked his shop.  His business now provides an ample income and is an asset to the community.

Tuck Shop and Outlet

We have provided an ex-student, with the shop premises within the Centre, rent free.  She is now successfully running her shop, Sweet Dreams, so providing an income to support her family.  With further donations from our generous donors, she has extended her tuck shop business to stock haberdashery and ladies' products.  She will also sell the garments sewn by the girls in our Brighter Futures Workshop.

Workshop

This year, four successful students have the opportunity to 'earn as they learn' as part of our vision to empower underprivileged girls to a brighter future.  They will be designing and sewing garments using all the resources at the centre, with support from the teachers. These garments will then be sold in the shop in the centre.

Teacher

Last year we employed one successful student as a teacher in the Centre; supporting her skill acquisition, boosting her employability and kickstarting her career. This year she will continue to teach sewing skills, along with teaching drawing and fabric painting.
